Science Kits

A science kit is basically a toy or collection of toys for kids, but scientific! What do we mean by that? Well, as opposed to a doll or toy car, for example, a science kit is a science project or group of projects consisting of hands-on experiments that often result in a fun science toy. Science kits, such as the ones sold by Science Store for the Stars, are presented in an easy-to-understand and interesting way and are intended to teach kids facts about various science subjects. For example, Crystal Radio kits are very popular and consist of one project; build a crystal radio. While they work on this project, kids learn about electronics and electricity, and how radios function.

When they’re done they have a cool toy that really works! Or take The How’s and Whys of Science kit by Educational Insights, which has many experiments in various subjects including biology, ecology, astronomy, and others. Kids can learn why the sky is blue, why it rains, how you can bend light, and conduct experiments similar to those real scientists would to discover many of the Earth’s secrets. As you can see, a science kit is infinitely better for children than a regular toy. Not only do kids use their imaginations, but they learn real science which will help them in both school and the real world. When you start to understand how the world around you actually works, you start to think in a different way. Instead of just accepting things as they are, you become curious about them, begin to ask questions, and realize that there is reason and logic to world around us.

It’s never too early for a child to start learning science and parents are the best teachers! If your child asks you about the Moon, will you simply reply, It’s the Moon? Or would you rather say, The moon is bound to the Earth by gravity, causes waves in the ocean, and reflects light from the Sun? Kids have amazing memories and retain information presented by their parents better than anyone else and if you give them a science kit to learn these things, they will eat it up with a spoon. The more they learn at an early age, the easier it will be in school and as they get older. Science kits and science experiment books are the absolute best way for kids to learn science.

It’s well known that kids learn concepts and skills more quickly, retain in memory longer, and have more fun, when they learn with hands-on experiments rather than simply reading about them in books. Science kits are designed specifically for these experiments and can make an otherwise boring subject fresh and exciting. There is real educational value built right into a science kit. They are designed, created, and written by teachers, scientists, and other professionals in various fields of science and they incorporate appropriate national teaching standards. Science kits are also a great source for science fair project ideas.

Science kits can be used at home as activities for one or more children. They are an excellent way for teachers to explain certain science concepts to their students and are great for parents who home-school their children and want to spice-up the curriculum. How much do adults love crossword puzzles, Soduko, and other mind challenging games? Well, kids want to be active problem solvers as well, and the design of science kits caters to their big imaginations and creativity by involving them in direct experimentation. And if your child is falling behind in one area of science, you will be sure to find a science kit covering it. It’s a great way to get a child interested in a science subject!

Science kits tend to use real life investigations, so kids will think about what they’ve learned and apply it when they go outside to explore, or while they are in the classroom. If the kit doesn’t already include what’s necessary to perform the investigations, all you’ll need are some common household materials and occasionally some batteries. Overall, a science kit will teach a child science concepts that they can apply to the world around them, and help them think outside the box.

It’s a fact that science is becoming more and more neglected in our schools and American kids are falling farther and farther behind the rest of the world in science knowledge. Most schools, public and private, now have suggested reading lists for summer break. Look at science kits and experiment books the same way and give your kids a boost in the subject of science. They’re prefect for birthdays, holidays, or when you’re feeling generous any time of the year. It’s science-learning-fun!

The Real Secrets Of Telepathy

Telepathy means ‘feelings over a distance’. Telepathy is the direct transmission of emotions or mental imagery from one person to another without using words, sight, hearing, touching, tasting, or smelling.

When we use our minds to convey what we are thinking without speaking is like having another step on a ladder only you can use. It is common knowledge amongst those who work with various variety of animals that some possess a type of telepathy for speaking to each other or conveying thoughts. Some mammals such as whales have been thought to be able to use this to send out messages over miles and miles of ocean.

Groups of primitive cultures have been thought to have telepathic abilities. Some of the more aboriginal tribes of today are said to still be engaging in some sort of telepathy.

So, telepathy is not some strange, esoteric subject–at least, it should not be. Telepathy should be seen as just as much of a birthright and inherent, learnable ability as language; and just as we recognize someone who can’t speak correctly or has difficulty learning how to read or talk as having a problem, so we should recognize those who can’t develop their telepathic powers as having a similar defectiveness in their learning!

But instead, our civilization has mostly lost the telepathic powers that are just as much part of the natural human brain and capabilities as speech, response to music, and the five senses.

Some people consider this another sense altogether. That is considered to be the sixth sense to many. It also comes in many other names depending on the era and region. It is now basically considered an instinct.

Many experience telepathy with out even knowing what it is. Do you ever get the heebie jeebies and do not know why? That can be a form of telepathy know as intuition. Have you ever changed a constant routine just because you have a weird feeling about taking your normal route just to find out an accident had happened where you were supposed to be traveling and at the same time as well. This may leave you to wonder if you may have been involved had you kept to your regular route. This is your intuition speaking to your, or your telepathy that there was potential danger.

As we have grown in our cultures, we have lost touch with our telepathic ancestors. Most of do not even recognize our own telepathy. The advent of modern day religions has effectively demonized telepathic powers to the point that the only association they have is with demonic control or with a tool of Satan. There are many new age religions that are becoming more in tune with telepathy however.

Because of the nature of these older religions and the stigma of telepathy, it is hard for some to have any thoughts of telepathy even truly existing. The only faith any more is in specific religious leaders or prophets instead of putting faith in themselves as people.

Because of the celestial quality of formalized religious gods, whether they be Christian, Jewish or Muslim, most of the traditional influential people have nixed the idea of telepathy as it does not fit in with faith of said gods. It is rare, but more modern day theology pursuers are beginning to realize that telepathy may indeed exist.

Scientists have a basic need to be able to explain any event. Because of the elusive nature of telepathy, they do not believe it exists even though many people have had these experiences in their lives. A lot of testing has been done on known telepaths but still the scientific community as a whole has discounted these revelations. They assume there is some type of hoax involved as some of these tests have not been in controlled situations.

It is hard to explain why there is no scientific belief in telepathy. Other senses can be felt by every human being, yet telepathy is only well known to just a small portion of the world. But even with the proofs in place, some will just refuse to believe or even contemplate the existence of telepathy. Some other things that require a trust in a sense to believe in are widely accepted, such as animal instincts.

Could it be jealousy on the part of those scientists who cannot exercise their own telepathic abilities so don’t want anyone to have them? And could it at other times be labeling a phenomenon as being the more familiar ‘instinctive-ness response’ when really it was telepathic in nature?

It is hard to say how we lost our original telepathic ability. It may be that with the advancement of men and technology, we lost our need to be more telepathic.

Lucid Dreams – Experience Every Fantasy!

You may not know about lucid dreams yet, but they are real and are an amazing experience. A lucid dream is a dream where you are conscious of the fact that you are dreaming; and best of all, you’re in total control of your dream! You can take the reins and take your dream anywhere that you want to go.

Lucid dreaming offers you the opportunity to be in the director’s chair for what is essentially your own movie. Anything you’ve ever wanted to see is possible when lucid dreaming. The only limit is your own creativity.

Lucid dreams are noticeably different than the dreams you’re used to having while you sleep; these regular dreams are guided by their own sort of logic and drift along without your input. By contrast, lucid dreams are under your control and seem real, regardless of how far out the events may be.

You can usually tell a lucid dream apart from other dreams through this technique; try reading something in your dream. If the words keep changing or do not form intelligible language, then you’re having a regular dream. If you can read and even dictate the contents of your reading material, then you are lucid dreaming.

When youre lucid dreaming, anything you imagine is possible. You can live out any fantasy you have, meet anyone you want and go anywhere.

If you don’t like the way that a lucid dream is going, you can always turn things around. You can even relief events from your own life and make them turn out in a better way; many people find that this is one of the benefits of lucid dreaming that can help them to work through some things in their lives.

Anyone can learn to have lucid dreams. Your body needs to rest of course so that you can awake refreshed and energetic enough to take on the tasks of the day; but while your body is at rest, your mind can stay partially active and engage in lucid dreaming.

You’ll need to practice lucid dreaming before you’re able to do it at will. This can take some time, so keep practicing and be patient; these dreams will come to you with time.

The best way to begin is by keeping a dream journal. Write down everything you can remember from your dreams as soon as you awake. Keep a pad and pen within arm’s length of your bed so that you can write down every detail quickly. You may not remember everything every time – be patient. You will get better at this with time and training your mind to remember your dreams and recognize when it is dreaming will help you to start having lucid dreams.

In fact, writers have been known to keep records of their lucid dreams to help them plan out characters and plots for their stories and novels. Lucid dreaming is a good way to exercise your creativity and try some new ideas.

Once you’re skilled in dream recall, you’ll easily be able to pick back up where you left off and continue your dreams – which lets you decide how your dreams play out.

Lucid dreaming happens most readily in the hour or two before you are accustomed to waking up. When you wake early and go back to bed at these times, you often lucid dream; it seems as if you’ve just been thinking as you lie in bed, but once the alarm goes off, you know that you’ve been dreaming!

To get yourself to the mental state where lucid dreaming is possible, you can use relaxation and meditation techniques along with dream recall. A lot of people find that self hypnosis can help them train their minds for dream recall quickly and efficiently.

One new advance in audio technology can also be of assistance to you in learning to have lucid dreams. Binaural beats are specially recorded frequencies which attune the two hemispheres of your brain to the proper frequency to reach a lucid dreaming state.

The author Paul Benson writes for the popular http://www.luciddreaminginfo.com site. You can enjoy the incredible experience of lucid dreams for yourself and get 29 Free lucid dreaming Binaural and hypnosis mp3 audios when you visit here.

Reverse Engineering a Product

by Dayna Fields

The field of science goes hand-in-hand with the terms contract inspection and reverse engineering and, considering what we had just a decade ago, the large amount of work that you can achieve in a very small amount of time is incredible.

One may take a part a computer chip and, using the same ideas from the original, rebuild it with different part than the original had. This process to reverse engineer something means that a scientist (or whoever) would dismantle a product with the intention of understanding how it was built in the first place.

The military uses this method often and they started as late back as the Second World War. For example, when the Americans noticed that the Germans had a better design for their gas tanks they sent out intelligence to gather some samples and then re-engineered the tank to fit their needs and created an even better model. Although the parts should all be different from the original model, the two products should essentially accomplish the same purpose. After a piece of equipment is finished being engineered, it must be inspected.

For example, when the Americans noticed that the Germans had a better design for their gas tanks, they sent out intelligence to gather some samples and then re-engineered the tank to fit their needs and created an even better model.

After a piece of equipment is finished being engineered, it must be inspected. Whereas we once had to rely on human hands and eyes, we can now use a machine to inspect the finished creation for us. A laser rolls over the finished product and transfers the data to a computer. That data is much more sufficient and complete than any human can offer because their senses are simply limited.

Once the data is transferred to the computer, scientists can see exactly where there might be a problem or if all the parts of the machine, even the smallest parts in the hardest to see places, were installed correctly. If the product was assembled correctly, as seen by the data, then the product can be sent off to the field for use or to the manufacturing plant for mass production.

Bottom line, the thoroughness of the laser machine is far superior to what any human eye could offer. In a matter of minute, the computer can tell you exactly what and where there is a problem in the manufacturing of the device.

Astronauts in the Space Station use this type of inspection as opposed to human inspection because it is important for them to be 100% positive that everything is installed correctly. In many cases, ensuring that all the parts of an object were created and secured correctly is a matter of safety. And there is no better way of making sure of this than using a machine.
