Are There Legitimate Online Government Auto Auctions Out There?

“Do NOT Subscribe to and Bid on Online Government Auto Auctions until you read this”

Maybe you’ve been there before yourself, but I got scammed by a car auction site when I paid $49.95 for a 1 year subscription that had very little to offer. The up front promotion was great but there were very few vehicles that met my search criteria after they had my money.

If there is a government auto, seized vehicle, or police auction site out there that I have not tried, I am not aware of it. Most of the sites I have tried are not worth the subscription fee. Many didn’t deliver or stand behind their claims.

However, legitimate auto auction sites are out there and that is the good news. You can find great deals if you are willing to do some work to prepare to bid intelligently. This article will help you make the right decisions from the start.

I know first hand that you can purchase a vehicle from an online auction site for pennies on the dollar if you plan, research, stick with your numbers and be patient. There are 3 or 4 sites that are far superior to the rest and will have your next car ‘ready for you’ in the next few weeks. They have lots of inventory. They provide training and support and above all teach you to find the real deals. Your next car is only a few clicks away once you know how these sites work.

You will never find that great deal at an online auto auction unless you know a deal when you see one. Do the research on a car model you are interested in and know that car like the back of your hand. How does mileage affect value? What are each of the options worth? What about condition? Once you get this information from sources like Kelley Blue Book or Edmunds, stick to the numbers when you start bidding. Don’t bid beyond your target price. Your deal is out there if and only if you are patient. If you need a car today, don’t buy it at an auction unless you do your research first.

When you’ve determined a fair value for the car you want, take that information and see if similar cars have sold for that price at one of the top auction sites. This sanity check will tell you if you have made sound decisions about the price you want to pay. This can often translate into 60% to 70% or more off blue book value. Then, if necessary, adjust and set a goal price for your search and stick to it. Stick to your goals as long as they are reasonable. There is no reason to sway from your research. Don’t overbid and don’t chase auctions.

Armed with this advice, read about the 4 best government auto auction sites you should consider when conducting your search. I have rated several seized vehicle auctions here that rated 4 out of 5 stars or better

Quick Painting Guide For Your Wood Trim

Painting wood trim can be fulfilling as it enables you to maintain or change the looks and appearance of your wooden trim as required as possible. Painting it also makes a contribution to its maintenance and upkeep and ensures its sturdiness.

The following are your quick guide on the easy way to paint your wood trim :

* First, prepare the woodwork. Sand and de-gloss the wood and wash it with a detergent, if at all possible. The paint won’t stick well if there’s dust, grease, dirt or gloss over the surface.

* Take of or protect items like door knobs, door handles and hardware. You can paint while the wood trim remained hanged, but you can paint it better if it is laid flat. Use blue tape to cover hardware and handles / knobs, if required. If the wood trim is removed, lay it across 2 sawhorses or a table when you start to paint.

* Check for cracks and holes and apply wood fill or caulk as needed. Use epoxy filler or the same stuff used as filler for car bodies to cover basically bigger holes. Again, sand the areas where required.

* Start your painting. First, apply a coat of primer if the surface has no paint yet. Then, leave it to dry.

* Next is to apply 1 or 2 coats using semi-gloss or glossy paint. These are preferable as these are the most durable and also, straightforward to scrub. Using a high-quality brush and ideally one with an angled end, paint in even strokes. Here are far more practical tips and even some warnings when you paint your wood trim :

* It’s better to color the jambs or the area where the door closes into first. Next to color is the trim round the door and the last is the door itself.

* If you happen to use a paint that gets too dry to spread, you can let it dry all of the way. Sand it down and then paint over it.

* For exterior wood trims, make efforts to paint its top and bottom edges even if these are not plain. This will help to protect it against rot and possible swelling.

* If possible, avoid using roller on a door. Even if it it’s completely flat, it cannot let you lay the paint evenly and may not produce a good look.

* Try to avoid loading up enough paint on your paint brush. Either these will collect in the door’s details, will pool up or drip. Paint with one side of the brush with one long stroke. On the reverse stroke, use the opposite side of the brush. Apply varying pressure when you cut along the edge. Brush lightly and uniformly when you paint the finishing coat.

Wood trims are only some of the parts of the house. However it may also add to the glow and attract of the house when properly kept.

Biomass Renewable Energy – An Overview

Nearly everyone familiar with the term “going green” knows what a renewable energy source is. They’ve heard the terms “solar energy” “wind energy” and maybe even “hydro power” because those are the types of renewable energy that are spoken about most often. But most people seem to be unaware of biomass renewable energy and how much of a great renewable energy investment it would be.

Where Does Biomass green energy Come From?

Basically, biomass renewable energy comes from organic materials like animals or plants. These materials contain energy that is stored from the sun (plants absorb sunlight as energy and when humans and animals eat those plants, it transfers to them). Examples of biomass renewable energy sources include manure, some types of garbage, wood and crops.

Energy is got when the biomass replenish-able power source is burned, putting out heat. Wood and rubbish are burned as a biomass replenish-able energy source to released heat or steam to make electricity. The heat may also be used to actually provide acceptable heating for houses.

Wood and wood waste is the commonest form of biomass clean energy in fact, it has been used even before people had any idea what replenish-able energy was. Around 150 years back, burning wood was the only possible way to provide heat or steam to power the things people used, and since trees can be replanted, it was actually the world’s first true green energy source used.

There are other ways of getting biomass renewable energy from these sources as well. Certain biomass renewable energy sources can be converted into other forms of energy like methane gas, ethanol or bio diesel fuel because methane gas is the main ingredient in the world’s natural gas. Bio gas – the smelly stuff produced by rotting garbage and human waste – also release methane gas, which is sometimes called biogas. Certain crops, like corn or sugar cane, can be fermented to produce ethanol, another kind of transportation fuel. And even bio diesel can be made using left-over food products like vegetable oil or animal fats. The best part is, all of these things – crops, garbage, waste – are produced anyway because humans need crops to eat and they then turn those crops into garbage and waste. The other things, like animal fat and vegetable oil, are used and discarded, meaning using them as a biomass renewable energy source is the same thing as recycling!

Clearly, biomass renewable energy is catching on – currently around 3% of the energy used in the United States is in the form of biomass renewable energy.

That is what I can tell you about Solar Energy Kits, there is more in-depth knowledge at Best Solar Power House Guide.

Butterfly Gardening

What is butterfly gardening? Simply put butterfly gardening is the art of growing flowers and plants that will attract these colorful and dainty creatures to your garden. Delight your family and visitors with beautiful butterflies, but be sure to create a safe habitat for them. If you own cats rethink your plans, because it would be a shame to attract these lovely insects to their death.

The design your butterfly garden is a matter of personal preference. Typical points to consider are the size of your garden and the types of flowers and plants you want to grow. Pick a style of garden that appeals to you, but ensure it also contains the plants and flowers that appeal to the butterflies you wish to attract.

It is important to find out which plants and flowers will attract the species of butterflies. That live in your area. This information can be found at the local library.

To create the kind of environment that they find attractive, you will also need water of some kind. A birdbath will look attractive and keep the butterflies up off the ground, away from stray cats or mischievous puppies. A shallow dish on a post or hung in a tree will do just as well.

When planting your butterfly garden be careful how you coordinate the colors you choose for your flowerbeds. Although butterflies do not care about your choice of color, you don’t want your garden to be a hodgepodge of unrelated colors and textures.

Butterflies are attracted to those flowers that have nectar rather than pollen, like honeysuckle, milkweed, summer lilac, Valerian, daisies, Purple Coneflower, Yellow Sage, day lilies and lavender.

Some people find it helpful to draw and color a layout of their butterfly gardening plan to see what the finished product would look like. Keep in mind that warm colors like red and orange are flashy and showy.

These colors have a greater impact against a strong green background. Cool colors such as blue and purple are soothing and toned down and would work better with a white contrast to create the look of freshness and brightness.

Dog Training: STOP! Your Dog from Jumping on You (2 Secrets – 2 Solutions)

by Scott Erickson

After inviting Grandmother to the house, she enters. Your dog joyfully bounds up on her, causing her to lose her balance and crack her head on the wall. Careful there, Grandma!

An extreme example? Maybe. How about this:

You’re all dressed up and ready to go for dinner at your favourite restaurant. The dog needs to pee so it’s time for a quick walk. She accidentally walks through some mud on the way back to the house. Before you get a chance to wipe her paws off, she decides that it’s playtime and proceeds to leap all over you, getting your pants FILTHY. Change time!! Wheee!!

Hazardous for Grandma? Sure. Annoying for you and your guests? Yes. Is your dog a jumper upper?

There are simple remedies available, in this article!

Here are some answers.

ATTENTION!

Your dog is so keen to see you and be with you when you get home, she jumps up on you. The main reason that dogs jump on people is simply that they’re excited to see you. If you want to break your dog of this habit (and you should) don’t give her any attention when she does this.

When you give your dog positive or negative attention, you’re showing him that his behaviour is OK. A few simple yet highly effective methods are available to change the way your dog acts.

TURN YOUR BACK:

Your dog thinks that jumping on you is the best way to get your attention. When your dog gets ready to jump on you, turn your back. Completely ignore her, and don’t even make eye contact until she’s stopped jumping up. Once she settles down, praise her immediately. This will reinforce the idea in her mind that she can get lots of nice attention only when she’s NOT jumping on people.

SWAP TIME?

While turning away can be effective, you may want another trick up your sleeve. You can encourage them to display a different behaviour by giving them the Sit command, for example. Your pet will quickly begin to understand that NOT jumping on people will get them better quality attention. This method only works if you give your dog lots of positive attention when they display the correct behaviour.

Dogs jump on us because they love us, right? However, if she jumps on children or elderly people, someone could get hurt. In order to avoid this, it’s best to use some effective training methods and be firm and kind with your dog.

2 SECRETS:

* Dogs jump on you because they’re excited to see you

* If you give them positive or negative attention, you’re reinforcing their behaviour

2 SOLUTIONS:

* Show your back to her when she jumps up

* Use substitution by giving a command: Sit, Go to your place

Remember, a courteous dog is liked by all.
